Twilight Undergoes a Major Gender Swap

To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Twilight's release, Stephenie Meyer has released a new version of the infamous vampire love story with a new twist: the genders of the main characters have been swapped.

That's right... Bella has become "Beaufort" and Edward is now "Edythe." That's right. The young lovers' names are now Beaufort and Edythe. But it's not just the main characters that got swapped... every character from original story became the opposite gender in Meyer's reimagined version.

Trading Places: A Gender-Swap YA Wish List
To recap for those of you who may have been in preschool when Twilight was all the rage, it's your typical "girl meets guy, guy and girl fall in love, guy happens to be a vampire whose entire existence threatens the girl's safety" type of story. And then there's New Moon (book 2 in the series), in which a familiar character is discovered to be a werewolf (naturally), and ultimately creates an epic supernatural love triangle.

If you missed the boat on the first Twilight craze, now's your chance to see what all the fuss was about. The 10th Anniversary Life and Death Dual Edition contains both the original Twilight and the new gender-swapped version.

If you were already familiar with the Twilight saga (and were a vampire/werewolf crazed fangirl or fanboy) then you'll definitely get a new and different perspective on the story you knew so well.
