We need YOU!

As some of you may or may not have heard, the school board of the Easton Area School District may not approve the library's budget this year for the first time in 115 years.

If they decide not to approve it, the library will have to make some pretty serious cuts. The library will lose staff members and be open fewer hours. Being open fewer hours means we lose even more money from the state of Pennsylvania, which means even MORE staff cuts and being open even fewer hours.

Are you seeing the awful domino effect this would have?

So what does all this mean for you???

It means less activities, programs, and resources because we won't have enough staff.

And that royally bums us out because we librarians love offering all that stuff to you.

So we're asking you for one simple thing: show your library lurv by attending the school board meeting to show the board that you want and need the library.

That's it.

You don't have to speak. You don't have to donate money. You just have to be there.

It is our hope that a large show of support for the library will show the school board who will be affected by these cuts and influence them to approve the budget. We'd love to see you there!

*UPDATE*

Thank you to everyone that came to the Easton school board meeting to support the library. We are happy to say that the school board passed the library's budget! Which means that we can keep doing awesome programs and stuff for you guys! We are so grateful to everyone who helped support us.
