Author Spotlight: David Ostow!

Some of you might recognize David's last name.

Sounds familiar, right?

Maybe it reminds you of Micol Ostow, who was at the Palmer Branch for YA Fest 2015...?

And it should remind you of Micol, mostly because Micol and David Ostow are brother and sister, not to mention a crazy cool author/illustrator duo.

David is an amazing cartoonist and illustrator whose work can be seen in three books (two of which are written by his sister Micol) and featured on Buzzfeed and the Huffington Post, just to name a few places. If you want a good laugh, check out the Buzzfeed article featuring his hilarious twists on motivational posters.

You can read and see more of David's amazing work on his website and blog, and be sure to follow him on Twitter and Instagram. His stuff is amazing and art/comics lovers will really enjoy his work.

And, obvs, you should also check out his illustrations in two of Micol's books, which are written as a blend of both text and graphics.

So Punk Rock and Other Ways to Disappoint Your Mother
Four suburban New Jersey students from the Leo R. Gittleman Jewish Day School form a rock band that becomes inexplicably popular, creating exhiliration, friction, confrontation, and soul-searching among its members.

The Devil and Winnie Flynn
While working as a production assistant on her aunt's television show about the paranormal, a seventeen-year-old girl discovers a psychic ability of her own, which may provide clues to her mother's death.

Not only are we excited about David's fantastic artwork, we're also super excited to have him join us for this year's YA Fest! Make sure you stop by and say hi... he'll be chatting and signing throughout the Fest!

Remember... if you'd like to take a look at David and Micol's books, you can request a copy from any library for $0.50! Grab a copy of one of these works of awesomeness and soak in all the goodness.
