Author Spotlight: Tom Tancin!

I’m thinking we should just adopt Tom Tancin at this point. He’s attended all of our YA Fests thus far, and is just such a cool dude. He spends his days working as a teacher, and spends the rest of his time building up his world of Atlantis. And oh what a world it is. The Bookshelf Review called it a combination of Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, and Eragon. Those are some big name contenders, man.

More importantly, this dude is coming back to YA Fest. Of his own free will. Even though it may seem like we’re kidnapping him every YA Fest. Okay, but let’s be honest, at this point, it simply wouldn’t be a complete YA Fest without the guy.

And I’ve heard through the grapevines he’s got a new book in the works….

So grab his books if you haven’t already read them, we’ve got his whole series! If you don’t see them, ask! Someone will most certainly hunt them down for you.

Hippocampus
Sixteen-year-old Trey Atlas' known life is a lie. While he was raised in Miami, Trey was actually born in Atlantis. Sent off the legendary island as a baby for his own safety, Trey is the only living heir to the Atlantean throne. Whether he likes it or not, Trey has to go back to his birthplace and accept his role as the Ruling Prince and lead the revolution to defeat the Knights of the Abyss. Otherwise, thousands of innocent lives and his true family legacy could be lost forever.

Echinodea
The Knights of the Abyss are still causing chaos in Atlantis. They threatened that if Trey Atlas doesn't relinquish his throne, they'll light the Echinodea--a magical lantern that could expose the island to the entire world. But if Trey steps down, the Knights would take over Atlantis and destroy everything it stands for; including erasing Trey's mysterious past. So there's only one option--get to the Echinodea before the Knights of the Abyss.

While on their search for the Echinodea, Trey and his Royal Court meet someone who claims to have the information Trey seeks about his biological family. But the key to the mystery isn't what he hoped it would be. It turns out that the secret in Trey's blood could steal the very throne he fights to protect.

Medousa
The revelation of Trey Atlas’ biological family was supposed to help him understand his past--and future--but it left him with more questions than answers and sent shock waves across the island of Atlantis. The Knights of the Abyss are trying to retake control of the palace and they have some unexpected allies. The entire island is in chaos and Trey is responsible.

As Trey struggles to find a way to save the island, he uncovers some unsettling facts. He's been a pawn in the game for both sides since the beginning. The prophecy that predicted his rule might have been misinterpreted. The war he’s fighting is a cover-up for something bigger. The people he trusts might not be trustworthy. And the enemies he hunts might be the only link to save the island.

In order to survive, Trey will have to figure out the truth in a world that’s been hiding it for 12,000 years.
