Presenting... our debut post of BOOKED THIS WEEKEND

As you may have noticed, for the last four months or so we've been doing a lot of Author Spotlights for all the incredible authors who were a part of YA Fest 2017. (We only have about 40 spotlights so if you missed that feature, I highly question your attentiveness.) It was great to showcase all the authors and their books, and it was cool fo rus (the writers of said spotlights) to learn a lot about them too!

So we're starting a new feature on EAPLTeens of similar spotlights called Booked This Weekend. Every Saturday, we'll highlight a book, author, series, genre, or anything that we feel deserves some love.

So what did we choose for our very first post of Booked This Weekend?

(I know... you're just bursting with eager anticipation, AMIRITE?!)

We're celebrating City of Bones by Cassandra Clare!

Believe it or not, the first book of the Mortal Instruments series is 10 FREAKING YEARS OLD this week.

(Not gonna lie... it makes me feel a little old, because I remember when that book first came out and I was SO EXCITED about it.)

City of Bones was first released on March 27, 2007. Since it's release, it has become a six-book series, followed by a series of prequel novels (The Infernal Devices), a series of a sequels set five years after the events of the Mortal Instruments (The Dark Artifices), three companion/spinoff books (The Bane Chronicles, The Shadowhunters Codex, and Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy), manga adaptations, graphic novel versions of the original books, a feature film, and a TV series.

So yea.

This series is clearly worth being Booked.

Props to Cassandra Clare for creating an insanely amazing series that keeps giving us ALL the feels for ten years running.
